Please support this ordinance. The rights of individuals for safe access to health care without intimidation or risk to safety belongs to everyone.

This ordinance is necessary to ensure women have access to SAFE health-care and agency over their own bodies. This type of harassment and intimidation would never stand at other health care facilities that provide elective procedures. Why is it acceptable here?

This ordinance is necessary to protect Capital Care patients from invasive and persistent harassment from anti-choice protestors. I have witnessed the intimidation tactics used by protestors (for example, writing down patients' license plate numbers) and I do not believe they should have the right to cause patients to feel fearful, anxious, and/or in danger of harm. If this were any other type of medical facility, protestors would not be permitted to behave in this way. Please protect patients!

I urge you to vote for this ordinance. Patients should have access to healthcare without being harassed.

Keep women safe as they seek legal healthcare. Women deserve respect and dignity as they enter a legal business, not harassment. This isn't a First Amendment issue. No one's free speech is denied. They're just being asked to stand farther back. (And though this has nothing to do with the proposed ordinance, I feel compelled to comment: These protestors aren't "counselors." That some are using that as argument in support of this is ludicrous.)

How about spending your time supporting families rather than killing babies? Are the women entering and exiting Capital Care complaining or is it the “administrators” who are aborting babies for money and selling of body parts to develop vaccines?

I strongly urge City Council members to OPPOSE this ordinance. I have prayed on the sidewalk and have repeatedly witnessed the loving approach of sidewalk counselors. The sidewalk counselors offer information that provides real choices to these vulnerable patients who often do not realize the amount of free help that is available to them. Please do not violate our freedom of speech, especially when existing laws already exist to ensure the safety of everyone on the sidewalk. Thank you.

Freedom of telling these women that there are other choices out there for them is needed because they will not get the full truth once they enter the places that will take life from them. They need to bar able to have those who will let them know they have options and know they can be loved and supported in other options of choosing life for their child!

I strongly oppose this unnecessary ordinance as there is currently an existing one and as there are no violations recorded regarding that one why is another needed? The name Patient Safety is also misleading as there is no record of any harm to any patients from those on the sidewalk. Tje harm comes when they enter Capital Care. I think your constituents would be better served if you took care of their roads & sidewalks. Thanks for allowing me to comment

This directly violates free speech and our Constitutional freedoms. Get ready for lawsuits if you pass this Toledo!

I adamantly oppose this ordinance. It is a violation of our freedom of speech and if it would pass get ready for many lawsuits!

There is no evidence that access has been denied or impeded to this abortion facility. This is a matter of protecting our free speech. If this ordinance is passed, there will be costly lawsuits wasting the Toledo taxpayers precious money for naught.

Time and again, during my years as a high school special education teacher, I witnessed young women feeling alone with the responsibility of having new life inside them. Wanting to give life to God’s creation they often did not have the support of adults in their lives. Women heading to Toledo’s abortion facility should be able to hear from those who lovingly support them and the life within them. They should not be made to feel there only option is against life. The ordinance is anti-woman.

Please support this ordinance. Women are entitled to be free from harassment when making medical decisions. The idea that these women in any way benefit from this sidewalk harassment is simply ludicrous.

I'm a single mom with two lovely children. It's the toughest most rewarding thing I've ever done. Vulnerable women need support and options. For many the only place they will ever encounter this is the people they meet on the sidewalk at the clinic. Are you afraid to let these women know that they have options? With a knowledge of options women can make informed choices. Don't shut that down.

I oppose this. In light of the federal FACE act, this is a redundant waste of time.

I urge you to vote YES on the patient safety ordinance. I am a volunteer clinic escort at Capital Care. I have witnessed so-called "sidewalk counselors" follow patients to their cars, scream at them, and block the clinic's driveway. Most patients go out of their way to avoid them. This ordinance does not restrict anyone's "free speech" -- it protects patients from extremists who aren't qualified to counsel anyone in the first place. Please pass it. Long overdue.

The Toledo abortion clinic has a long history of health and safety violations which clients are unaware of. The sidewalk counselors are the only people who present this to prospective clients. No matter how you feel about abortion, you should care about patient safety. The federal FACE act already protects clients from being blocked to enter the clinic. OPPOSE this frivolous and unnecessary legislation.

I plead with you to oppose this! These sidewalk advocates are the ones truly looking out for “patient safety”, they are not being violent, they are 1) trying to save the lives of these unborn children and 2) protect these mothers from emotional and physical harm that often occurs from abortions.
